about

Two Icelandic lullabies, recorded on a cold November day in Reykjavik, Iceland. The first is an extract from a dark lullaby, 'Sleep My Young Love'. The first verse translates as;

Sleep, my young love,
Outside the rain cries.
Mummy, looks after your toys,
Old bones and toy box.
We should not stay awake through dark nights.

The second lullaby is a poem by children's poet Kári Tryggvason, and set to music by Bara Grimsdottir.
